A Pokemon fan has recently shown off his realistic take on the water-type Eevee evolution, Vaporeon by recreating it in Blender.

The realistic recreation of the beloved character was created by 3D Modeler and illustrator Chris Masna, who took the Kanto-region Pokemon and recreated it in the program Blender. The Pokemon was given hyper-realistic skin and textures, and even given realistic ground to stand on. The image provided by Masna shows his Vaporeon standing on a watery surface, while holding a Magikarp in its mouth. Magikarp, too, is given the hyper-realistic 3D treatment as well. Both Pokemon are incredibly detailed, and really look phenomenal.

Masna’s first post is simply an image of his work, while later posting a video displaying a 3D panoramic view of the two Pokemon. He then followed the posts with a third, selling a 3D-printable version of the two 3D-models. Those who wish to have these 3D models to do with as they wish can do so now, by paying Masna $15.

Eevee and its many evolutions have always received plenty of love, but have been especially popular with artists as of late, with the first generation Eeveelutions Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon getting beautifully recreated in paper recently. Other artists have payed similar homage to the cute Pokemon, with one artist depicting what it may look like for Eevee to have a Ghost type, Fighting type, and even Poison type evolution.

Pokemon in general has always seemed to get plenty of attention with artistic fans of the franchise; recently, one Etsy seller made what it might look like it both Venusaur and Studio Ghibli’s Totoro were combined into one single character.

Overall, the Pokemon series has been given an immense amount of love from its enormous fan base over the past twenty years since its inception. The franchise has continued to sell incredibly well, and shows no sign of stopping anytime in the near future. Earlier this month, Pokemon Sword and Shield passed 18 million copies sold worldwide, making it the fifth best-selling Nintendo Switch game and best-selling Pokemon game within the last twenty years. Pokemon GO continues to set new records in its high user base on smart devices, and other beloved Pokemon spin-off titles, such as Pokemon Snap, are making a return with an incredibly high-level of support from fans. With so much love from fans all around the world, the Pokemon franchise has no where to go but up.
