Pokémon GO All April 2020 Research Tasks & Rewards

April may have only just begun but Pokémon GO’s research tasks for the month are ready and raring to go. Here’s a quick rundown of every last one of them. For a visual guide, visit The Silph Road.

A new month has begun and that means new field research in Pokémon GO. There’s a lot to get through, a mix of both new and old, so let’s get started right away. First up, what types trainers should be on the lookout for. Catching a dragon-type will unlock a Dratini encounter, three rock-types will equal a Magcargo, and any combo of three grass, fire or ground-type Pokémon will lead to a Cacnea encounter. Catching ten Pokémon of any type will bring trainers face-to-face with a Magikarp, and five with a weather boost will result in Poliwag or Vulpix encounters.

Hatching an egg will be rewarded with a Bayleef, while taking a snapshot with your buddy will lead to a Shroomish crossing your path. Earning hearts with the same buddy will result in a Bellossom encounter. Winning a level three or higher raid will lead to an encounter with a fossil Pokémon, either Omanyte or Kabuto, and upping the intensity to a level five raid will lead to an Aerodactyl encounter, providing you win.

Next up, what those precision throws will earn trainers throughout April. Five nices will get a Voltorb, three greats will lead to a Gastly, Anorith, or Lileep, or three greats in a row for an Onix. Five greats in a row with curveball will result in a Spinda (form 8) encounter, and three excellent throws in a row will cause a Larvitar to manifest.

Still with us? We did warn you that April is a crowded month for field research. Just because trainers can’t see their friends doesn’t mean they can’t play Pokémon GO with them. Giving three gifts could earn a Magmar encounter, trading a Pokémon will result in a Pineco encounter, and taking part in a battle will earn an encounter with a Burmy.

The final batch of field research will earn encounters with a handful of different Gen I Pokémon. Power up a Pokémon five times and one of the original starters will appear. Evolving a Pokémon will be rewarded with the chance to catch a Gloom or an Eevee. Transferring three Pokémon will summon a Parasect. That’s your lot! But remember, merely completing these tasks isn’t enough. They first need to be activated and discovered by spinning Pokéstops.
