Pokemon GO All Throwback Challenge 2020 Kanto 7km Egg Hatches

Pokemon GO has recently kicked off its special Throwback Challenge 2020 event, giving fans of the popular augmented reality mobile game their best chance yet at completing their Pokedex. The first week of the Pokemon GO Throwback Challenge 2020 event revolves around Kanto region Pokemon, which players will find in raids, Field Research tasks, out in the wild, and even in 7km eggs.

7km eggs in Pokemon GO are obtained by opening gifts from friends. Players can get gifts from spinning PokeStops, and can then send them out to anyone on their friends list. Not every Pokemon GO gift will contain a 7km egg, and players also have to make sure that they have an open egg slot before opening any gifts for a chance to get one. So players needing to get specific Kanto region Pokemon that hatch from eggs will definitely want to make sure that they are only opening gifts when they have room for them.

There are nine different Kanto region Pokemon that are currently hatching from 7km eggs in Pokemon GO.

Eevee

Lapras

Lickitung

Machop

Onix

Pinsir

Scyther

Tangela

Venonat

7km eggs are the second-longest eggs to hatch in Pokemon GO, but right now they will be much easier to hatch than usual. That’s thanks to the changes Niantic has made to Pokemon GO in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with all egg hatch times reduced in an effort to encourage players to stay inside and continue practice social distancing.

Anyone interested in getting any of these Pokemon will want to hatch as many 7km eggs in Pokemon GO as possible by Friday, May 8 at 1:00pm local time. At that point, the Pokemon found in 7km eggs will switch up, representing Johto region Pokemon instead of Kanto region ones. This 7km egg rotation will continue throughout the Throwback Challenge 2020 event, with Hoenn region Pokemon added to the 7km egg hatch pool the week after that on May 15, and Sinnoh region Pokemon added on May 22.

The Pokemon GO Throwback Challenge 2020 event will conclude with new Galarian Pokemon in 7km eggs, so that will perhaps be the most exciting time for players to hatch eggs during the event. For now, though, players can attempt to add rare Kanto region Pokemon to their collection, like Lapras and Tangela, by hatching 7km eggs.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
