Pokemon GO players may not be able to head out into their community and meet up with friends to battle at Raids and celebrate Community Days, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t staying busy. Niantic has been delivering a nonstop stream of play-at-home optimized events to keep trainers busy and that isn’t slowing down in the second half of the month.
Starting on April 21, Pokemon GO players are going to be able to take advantage of the bonuses and spawns available thanks to the Buddy Up event. This new event puts a special focus on all of the activities that involve trainers’ best pals, but there are lots of other spawn spawns, hatches, and rewards to be excited about, as well.
The Buddy Up event runs for one full week and offers players a ton of chance to stock up on some valuable Candy for Eevee, Feebas, and a handful of other meta-relevant Pokemon GO creatures. The event takes social distancing into account and limits the need to walk long distance or travel around with your buddy to increase their happiness. Hopefully players are able to spend the week bonding with their Pokemon pals and earning lots of exciting rewards.

Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. local time through Monday, April 27, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. local time.

Special Spawns
Volbeat and Illumise, normally found only in specific regions, will be appearing everywhere in the wild, in Eggs, and as reward encounters from Field Research tasks! If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Volbeat or a Shiny Illumise!
For the first time, you’ll be able to encounter Woobat in the wild and after completing certain Field Research tasks. Woobat will be available in the wild and in 2 km Eggs after Buddy Up is over.

Bonuses
Buddy Pokémon will be bringing you more surprises more often! Look out for more items and Souvenirs. Your buddy might even bring you a new kind of gift!
The distance to earn Buddy Candy and hearts with your buddy will be halved.
It’ll be easier for your buddy to get excited!
Feed your buddy Berries and Poffins, and it’ll join you on the map for twice as long.
Earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon, your buddy or otherwise!
