Pokémon GO Events Add Shiny Regigigas & Shiny Bidoof

Mobile ARG Pokémon GO has revealed details on a couple of its upcoming 2021 Solstice and Bidoff Breakout events, which will be debuting Shiny Regigigas and Shiny Bidoof, respectively. Developer Niantic announced many of the details for Pokémon GO’s events for June at the start of the month, with most events focusing on certain Pokémon and items that players will encounter and earn more for temporary periods, but the studio held some of the information back for reveals later on.

June marks the start of Pokémon GO’s new Season of Discovery, the game’s latest three month in-game season and will feature events for players to experience from June to August. The first two weeks of the new season gave players the opportunity to catch Regirock, Regice, and Registeel in raids as well as hosted the A Very Slow Discovery event that featured Gen 1 Pokémon Slowpoke and allowed players to collect Slowpoke-related avatar items and more.

As for the final two weeks of June, Niantic announced on the official Pokémon GO blog that the Shiny variants of Regigigas and Bidoof will become available for players to catch. More specifically, Regigigas and its Shiny variant will be appearing in five-star raids during the game’s returning solstice event from June 17 to July 1. On the other hand, Bidoof and Shiny Bidoof will be available later in the month during the Bidoof Breakout event from June 25 to July 1. During this meme-tier event, the popular Bidoof will be encountered more often in the wild, raids, and encounters once a player is able to complete event-exclusive Field Research.

Each of the two events also have additional Pokémon and activities that players will be able to catch and participate in. Pokémon such as Lunatone, Solrock, Spheal, and Snorlax will be available in the wild during the solstice-themed event. Other Pokémon will also appear in the wild and in raids, depending on whether the player is located in the northern or southern hemisphere. As for the Bidoof event, players will be able to evolve their Bidoof at any time during the event to obtain a Bibarel that knows Hyper Beam. Players will also be able to save Shadow Bidoof from Team GO Rocket during the event.

Players definitely have a lot to look forward to during the last two weeks of June and they’ll have even more to be excited about next month as Pokémon GO will be celebrating its annual Pokémon GO Fest event, which is set to introduce Mythical Pokémon Meloetta during the annual celebration.
