A new month means a new set of Field Research Tasks for players to complete in Pokemon Go. September comes along with a slew of new content for players jumping into the world of Pokemon every day. Later this month, players will be able to celebrate the Psychic Spectacular event, where the spawn rates of Psychic-type Pokemon will be drastically increased. Not only that, but more Special Research Tasks are being unlocked for those players looking to add the legendary Pokemon Hoopa to their collection. Every Field Research Task brings new rewards to collect for September.

Pokemon Go players should aim to complete at least 1 Field Research Task a day. Completing them for 7 days in a row will unlock the Research Breakthrough rewards which provide players with XP, Evolutionary Items, and a Ditto encounter for September. Ditto itself is amongst the most difficult Kanto Pokemon to locate normally, so this makes it a bit easier to find. Completing Field Research is also a great way to encounter Shiny Pokemon, if they are available in the game.

Each challenge ranges from collecting a specific number of Pokemon, finding candy with the player’s buddy, or evolving a set amount of Pokemon. These change every month. Here is what players can expect to find during Pokemon Go’s September Tasks in 2021.

• Catch 1 Shadow Pokemon: Aron encounter.
• Catch 10 Fire-type Pokemon: x10 Charizard Mega Energy
• Catch 10 Grass-type Pokemon: x10 Venusaur Mega Energy
• Catch 10 Normal-type Pokemon: x10 Pidgeot Mega Energy
• Catch 10 Water-type Pokemon: x10 Blastoise Mega Energy
• Catch 3 Pokemon: Rattata encounter or Alolan Rattata encounter.
• Catch 5 Pokemon with Weather Boost: Poliwag encounter, Vulpix encounter, Hippopotas encounter or, Snover encounter.

• Make 3 Excellent Throws in a row: Gible encounter.
• Make 3 Great Throws in a row: Onix encounter.
• Make 3 Great Throws: Lileep encounter, Anorith encounter, or Snubbull encounter.

• Power Up Pokemon 3 times: Bulbasaur encounter, Charmander encounter, or Squirtle encounter.
• Power Up Pokemon 5 times: x10 Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise/Beedrill/Pidgeot Mega Energy
• Power Up Pokemon 5 times: Chikorita encounter, Cyndaquil encounter, or Totodile encounter.
• Power Up Pokemon 7 times: Treecko encounter, Torchic encounter, or Mudkip encounter.
• Purify 3 Shadow Pokemon: Slowpoke encounter.
• Send a Gift to a Friend: Lotad encounter or Seedot encounter.
• Spin 3 PokeStops or Gyms: Sudowoodo encounter.
• Spin 5 PokeStops or Gyms: Ralts encounter.
• Take 2 snapshots of wild Psychic-type Pokemon: Natu encounter.
• Take a snapshot of a wild Pokemon: Murkrow encounter, Hoppip encounter, or Yanma encounter.
• Trade a Pokemon: Koffing encounter, or Ekans encounter.
• Use 10 supereffective Charged Attacks: x20 Slowbro Mega Energy
• Use 3 Nanab Berries to catch Pokemon: Murkrow encounter.
• Walk 2km: Treecko encounter, Torchic encounter, or Mudkip encounter.
• Win 5 raids: Aerodactyl encounter.
• Win a Level 3 or higher Raid: Kabuto encounter or Omanyte encounter.
• Win a Raid: Mawile encounter.

The Research Breakthrough rewards change every month. For August, players were treated to a Chimecho encounter, and October is still shrouded in mystery. Taking advantage of all the special events that Pokemon Go has to offer is a great way to earn items, and characters, that would otherwise be difficult to acquire.
