The latest global event to hit Pokemon Go, the Festival of Colors is all about celebrating the brightness of life alongside Oricorio, the Dancing Pokemon, and friends. Part of the wider Season of Alola, you’ll have to be quick as the event lasts just five days — so get walking, get collecting, and add a splash of color to your game!
As with all Pokemon Go events, you will encounter certain Pokemon more frequently, be able to take advantage of timed bonuses, and complete special Field Research tasks for rewards. There are new Raids for you to tackle, including a fearsome Mega Raid, and a bunch of new avatar items.
Event Duration
The Festival of Colors kicks off on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 10am local time, and will end on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 8pm local time.
This gives you approximately five days and ten hours to complete everything!
New Pokemon
All events need a new Pokemon, and the Festival of Colors is no different. This time, we’re introduced to Oricorio, the Dancing Pokemon. Originally introduced in Pokemon Sun & Moon, it changes form according to which Nectar it consumes.
In Pokemon Go, the different variants depend on where in the world you encounter Oricorio.
Appearance rates will be boosted for Oricorio and the following Pokemon during the event.
These nine Pokemon can also be caught in their shiny forms, and if you’re fortunate you can also come across Beautifly, Dustox, and Alomomola — the latter of which can also be shiny.
Raid Pokemon
The raid roster has been refreshed for the Festival of Colors, with new Pokemon to challenge. Mega Lopunny takes centre stage in Mega Raids, while Therian Forme Tornadus appears as a five-star raid.
The full lineup is as follows:
- Mega Raids: Mega Lopunny
- Five-Star Raids: Therian Forme Tornadus
- Three-Star Raids: Alolan Marowak, Chansey, Druddigon, Marowak, Umbreon
- One-Star Raids: Jigglypuff, Mudkip, Rockruff, Torchic, Treecko
Field Research Tasks
There are also brand-new tasks for you to complete as part of the event, centered on catching certain types of Pokemon. The rewards differ, with several encounters and Mega Energy on offer.
A collection challenge is also live during the event, where you’re asked to find eight specific Pokemon.
As a reward, you’ll get:
- 20,000 XP
- 3,000 Stardust
- Encounter: Oricorio
New Clothing & Customisation
A bunch of new avatar items have been added to the game, which Trainers can claim and equip for free. They include two t-shirts, one white and one black, and three face stickers of various colours.
Other Information
As always with Pokemon Go events, Trainers will benefit from the following global event bonuses:
