Pokemon GO First 2020 Community Day Date Revealed

Pokemon GO’s last Community Day event of 2019 just wrapped up, bringing the end to another year of the exciting monthly events. The monthly spotlight on a single Pokemon (followed by a roundup of them all in December) is always a popular occasion in the mobile AR game and Niantic just confirmed that the events will be returning in 2020.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise at all, since Pokemon GO Community Days are a major part of the game at this point, but it is exciting to learn more about the first 2020 event. Although the Pokemon getting the spotlight in January is still a mystery, Niantic is ready to release the dates and times for the coming event.

Players are going to have to wait a few weeks after the new year for 2020’s first Community Day event on January 19, 2020. The featured Pokemon will likely be announced after the new year, but many fans are predicting Piplup, based on the pattern established last year.

“We’re also excited to announce that January Community Day next year will be taking place on Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Which Pokémon do you think will be featured, Trainers?”

The bonuses for the January Community Day have also not been confirmed yet, but those details should arrive in early 2020. Fans should take careful note of the times for the upcoming event based on their location…
