Pokemon GO Friendship Day April 2021 Collection Challenge Guide

From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in players’ local times on April 24th, Pokemon GO players will be able to participate in April 2021’s Friendship Day event. This event is focused on a variety of Grass-type Pokemon with higher spawn rates and bonuses.

One of the biggest parts of this event in Pokemon GO is the Collection Challenge. By catching all of the Pokemon required for it, players will get the special reward of 175,000 XP. Players however only have the event’s duration to complete the challenge.

With how much XP is on the line, players are highly recommended to go at this challenge. There are eleven different Pokemon that players need to catch before the time is up. Players must catch these Pokemon during the event and cannot hatch them from eggs or have them traded from another player.

The Grass-type Pokemon needed for the Friendship Day Collection are Bulbasaur, Tangela, Chikorita, Sunkern, Treeko, Cacnea, Turtwig, Snivy, Cottonee, Foongus, and Chespin. Every single one of these Pokemon are among the increased spawn rates, meaning that players can find each and every one of these in the wild.

Luckily for players, there are ways that the Friendship Day event has made finding these Pokemon easier than just the increased spawn rates. To make it even easier to find these Pokemon, players are recommended to use lure modules and incenses in order to further increase the spawn rates. While the event is active, both incenses and lures will last three hours instead of their usual times. This gives players even more chances to catch these Pokemon.

Another important thing to do while on the hunt is to make sure there’s enough Pokeballs to capture the various Grass-type Pokemon. As players participate in the event, they are recommended to visit as many gyms and Pokestops as they can in order to fill up on items. If players are in an area with other players, it is also very likely to see multiple PokeStops with lures on them. With how lures work, it is recommended to take advantage of any active ones in sight.

Although the Pokemon needed for the Collection Challenge are among the increased spawn rates, it doesn’t mean that only Pokemon from the challenge will be appearing during the event. There are plenty of other Grass-type Pokemon that will be appearing as well with it being up to the player on whether or not they want to capture them.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.
