Pokemon GO’s Halloween 2018 is well underway, with players receiving everything from a new raid boss to the Spiritomb-related Spooky Message Special Research quest. However, like with past events, this Halloween-themed extravaganza also features a number of new Field Research quests players can obtain by visiting PokeStops. Of course, players can complete these and still earn the Field Research breakthrough reward of the month, with it actually being somewhat easier during this event.

These quests are Ghost- or Dark-type themed to coincide with the on-going event, and have players pursuing Pokemon such as Poochyena or Houndour. For this list of quests, we have to thank well-known Pokemon GO dataminer Chrales who unveiled these quests shortly before the event went live.

As seen below, these quests are not as numerous as the monthly field research quests, but they should be easily completed during the event. These include the following: Catch X Poochyena or Houndour, Catch X Dark-type Pokemon, Catch X Ghost-type Pokemon, Evolve X Duskull or Shuppet, and Transfer X Pokemon.

For the uninitiated, the Transfer X Pokemon Field Research quest may seem out of place. Compared to the others, after all, there isn’t much spooky or Halloween-related to the quest. It’s worth mentioning, however, that one of the candy theories related to Pokemon GO is that Professor Willow grinds transferred Pokemon into candy. While this is almost certainly not true, it seems plausible that Niantic is having a bit of fun with that fan theory.

Of course, for players participating in this event, there is more than just Field Research to complete. After all, beyond the research aspect of the game, players can now face the Ghost/Dragon-type legendary Giratina in raid battles. Pokemon GO is available now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
