Not too long ago, Pokemon GO held the first of three planned live Safari Zone events at Dortmund, Germany, which was intended to give trainers a chance to catch Unown, Shiny versions of Rosalia, and obtain special 2 KM eggs throughout the city. However, much like with the inaugural PoGO Fest, this weekend’s event encountered a bevy of problems that affected a lot of players, so Niantic has promised to hold a special event as an apology to European fans.

As seen in the tweet below, Pokemon GO will be hosting a Europe-wide event “later this week”, with Niantic asking fans to wait patiently and stay tuned for more information to come at some point in the near future. Unfortunately, though, the company didn’t provide any additional information that would help one speculate as to what kind of content will be offered up as an olive branch to fans who were negatively affected by the technical difficulties during the Safari Zone event.

For those unaware, Pokemon GO suffered from severe network traffic issues during the recent Safari Zone event in Dortmund, especially in the park that it was centered around. Many players couldn’t log into the ARG, and the game eventually warned players not to use incense while playing. The issues went on to befixed by Saturday night, but Niantic still had plenty of frustrated and upset users on its hands.

Beyond the Safari Zone in Dortmund, Niantic has plenty of other events planned for July 2018 in Pokemon GO this summer, with the developer seeming intent to keep players busy for the rest of the season. Of course, one can only hope that the company is able to make sure that the forthcoming functions centered around PoGO don’t suffer any more major technical errors along the way.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
