These are weekly events where a single Pokemon will have its spawn rate drastically increased, making it easier to capture. This is the perfect chance for players to grind for XP, Stardust, or candy for that specific Pokemon. Although, there is an underlying chance that lucky players will be able to come across a Shiny Drifloon.
Shiny odds are not increased during Spotlight Hour events like they are during a Community Day. The odds still remain 1/500 for each encounter. In this case, players can play the Drifloon Spotlight Hour on October 5th from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. Players will be able to earn double the XP for evolving Pokemon during this time. This can be valuable for players looking to grind for XP during those more difficult levels. There are a lot of different ways players can prepare for this upcoming event to prepare for this Spotlight Hour.
Drifloon, Gastly, Gothita, and Murkrow are all the Spotlight Pokemon for the month of October. All of them, except for Gothita, have their Shiny forms introduced into the game. These are all the different ways players can increase their chance of finding a Shiny Drifloon.
How To Find Shiny Drifloon in Pokemon Go
- Run: This will save a ton of time in-between Pokemon Go encounters. Players looking to find a Shiny Drifloon should run after every normal encounter.
- The Fast Catch Trick: This is a trick where players can skip the Pokeball animation when capturing. This is vital for earning XP, Stardust, and candy for Drifloon and will also save time between encounters.
- Lucky Eggs: Using this item during this event will bring the evolution XP up to x4. Players should be able to use two of them during this event.
- Tag Pokemon That Can Evolve: Before the event, look through the Pokemon storage and find any Pokemon that can evolve. Tag them before the event to save time between scrolling to see which Pokemon can evolve.
- Aim For 50 Candy: Regardless of the hunt for Drifloon, players should aim to collect at least 50 candy. This will evolve Drifloon into Drifblim.
