Skwovet is one of the Galar Pokemon joining the roster in Pokemon Go. Recently, Niantic has revealed the circumstances surrounding the previously hidden Ultra Unlock Part 3 event. Pokemon Go’s Ultra Unlock Part 1 and 2 were centered around the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl legendaries, Dialga and Palkia. Many expected Giratina to be the next Pokemon to take the spotlight, but to the surprise of pretty much everyone, players will soon be able to find Pokemon from Pokemon Sword and Shield, the most recent mainline entry in the series. Instead of jumping into Alola, the next region to chronologically be added to the series, Niantic skipped ahead and went right for what’s new. During the Ultra Unlock Part 3 event, players will be able to find a handful of Pokemon from the Galar region. Skwovet is one of these Pokemon and players will have the opportunity to catch them.

Skwovet is one of the first Pokemon players will encounter during their adventure in the Galar region. Only about 7 Pokemon from Galar will be added during the Ultra Unlock Part 3 event, including the 2 legendary Pokemon, Zacian and Zamazenta. Skwovet itself is an adorable squirrel Pokemon that helps players become more comfortable on their new adventure early on.

How To Find (& Catch) Skwovet in Pokemon Go

Skwovet will be added to the game during the Pokemon Go Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield event. This event will begin on Friday, August 20th at 10 am local time. Here are all the different ways for players to find this Pokemon.

• In The Wild: Skwovet has been confirmed to be one of the Pokemon to appear more frequently in the wild. Players shouldn’t have too much trouble encountering it naturally. If players are struggling, they can use an Incense or Lure Module to increase the spawn rate of all Pokemon nearby.
• Field Research Tasks: Players will be able to complete a new Field Research task to unlock a Skwovet encounter.

It is fairly common for Niantic to drip-feed new Pokemon to the player base after a new region is debuted. It’s nice to see Zacian and Zamazenta be available right from the beginning through 5-star raid battles similar to Xerneas and Yveltal earlier this year. The real question is when will Alola be added to the game after being skipped right over. Only time will tell.
