This weekend is going to be a busy one for Pokemon GO players as trainers race around enjoy the current Ultra Unlock Reward bonuses and features and a two-day Community Day event fires off. This month Eevee is back in the spotlight for the August 2021 Community Day and that means that are a ton of evolutions players will need to get if they want to take advantage of every exclusive move that is up for grabs.
The August Community Day is taking place in two parts over Saturday and Sunday. During the full weekend, Pokemon GO trainers will have the opportunity to catch a ton of Eevees and rack up enough Candy to evolve the Pokemon plenty of times. That said, controlling the evolutions can be a bit more tricky. Trainers will want to pay careful attention to the different evolution methods if they are aiming to get shiny versions of each or get the exclusive moves for each of the different Eevee evolutions.
There are eight Eevee evolutions in the game and some are going to be a lot easier to obtain than others. Luckily, a bug currently exists that makes controlling the Umbreon and Espeon evolutions much easier and Niantic already confirmed it won’t be fixing that issue until after Community Day. How To Get Every Eevee Evolution During August Community Day
How to evolve Jolteon, Vaporeon or Flareon
Players who have already used the name change trick will need to evolve at random and luck into these three. After the initial name change there is no longer a way to control these three evolutions.
For newer players who haven’t used the one-time use name change trick yet, change Eevee’s name to the correct match to control each evolution:
Sparky = Jolteon
Rainer = Vaporeon
Pyro = Flareon
How to evolve Umbreon or Espeon
Usually players would need to walk at least 10 km with Eevee and earn 2 Buddy Candy to evolve. For now, the 10 km requirement has been removed and that won’t be fixed until after Community Day. Evolve during day for Umbreon and during night for Espeon.

Evolve under a Mossy Lure to get Leafeon
How to evolve Glaceon
Evolve under a Glacial Lure to get Glaceon
How to evolve Sylveon
Earn 25 Eevee Candy and 70 Hearts with Eevee as your Buddy to get a Sylveon
