Pokemon GO How to Get Mysterious Components to Build Rocket Radar

Team Rocket has invaded Pokemon GO! In the newest update to the international hit mobile game, Team Rocket is the enemy to beat. If players are looking to counter the Team Rocket invasion, they first have to be able to find each of the Leaders and defeat them. But to find them, trainers will first have build a Radar with Mysterious Components that can be collected.

Team Rocket Invades

Since November 7th, 2019, Team Go Rocket Leaders and their Grunts will now show up in PokeStops. They were previously only seen around London and San Francisco, but are now available worldwide with the release of Looming in the Shadows. Players will need to defeat Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra from Team Rocket, but they aren’t easy to track down without the Rocket Radar; it can be created by finding and assembling all six Mysterious Components.

And defeating all three Team Rocket Leaders, players will get the chance to battle a shiny Shadow Pokemon.

Where to Find the Components

Team Rocket Grunts will be invading PokeStops all over the globe, and they are the only place to find the six Mysterious Components. The battles happen frequently and the Components drop often, giving players the opportunity to get all six pretty quickly. If trainers happen to grab one after a Team Rocket Grunt battle, they’ll get a dialogue like this:

Next players will have to make the Radar. Once the six pieces are all collected, the screen will ask the player if they want to combine the materials together into the finished Radar. It will look something like this:

After equipping it, the Radar will change the way the map looks, leading players to find all the Team Rocket Leaders so they can bring them down. Complete the Special Research quests to Make a Super version of the Radar, and players will be able to find and fight Giovanni as well. Defeating the Team Rocket Leaders is difficult, and they will send loads of Grunts to try and slow players down, so make sure to bring loads of healing and revive items along for the fights.

Here’s a great video that walks players through the whole process from finding the Mysterious Components, making the Rocket Radar, making the Super Rocket Radar, Shadow Legionaries, and more; the good stuff starts at about 10:15.
