The Weedle Community Day is currently ongoing in Pokemon GO. With it, the spawn rates of Weedle have increased immensely as well as provide players with special buffs to help them while they take it a bit more on the easy side while playing.

While some may find it strange that weedle of all Pokemon is the subject of a Pokemon GO Community Day, Weedle was voted on by players for what community day they wanted to have in the future.

This event will be occurring on June 20th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm in players’ local times. As the event has already begun, players should get to catching.

Because of the spawn rates of Weedle increasing during this event by an exponential amount, the odds of catching a shiny Weedle are greatly increased. These shiny Weedle can evolve into shiny Kakuna, which can then evolve into shiny Beedrill. Kakuna that evolve into Beedrill during this event will get the exclusive move of Drill Run.

The shiny rate of Weedle during this event is 4.1%, so the odds of finding one with the large amount of Weedle are very great. Shiny Weedle can be recognized by their bright yellow coloring. However, this coloring cannot be seen in the overworld, so players should enter every possible encounter.

To maximize the amount of Weedle appearing, players are recommended to use an orange incense, which is normal incense that has turned orange for the event. For this event, the amount of time an incense is active has been upped to 3 hours.

Other benefits that players get during this event include buddy Pokemon finding Poke Balls every 30 if they are Great Buddies, an exclusive Community Day Box available for players in the shop, and 3x the amount of stardust from catching Pokemon. Players should note that this doesn’t seem to stack with the Solstice Event stardust boost.

When fully evolved, Beedrill is a dual bug and poison-type. It has the max CP of 1846. Due to its typing and stats, it isn’t greatly recommended for PVP and is most recommended for shiny hunters.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
