Pokemon GO How to Get Shiny Buizel

On January 12, 2021, Pokemon GO players will be able to participate in the Sinnoh Celebration Event, starting at 10:00 AM in players’ local times. With it will be increased spawns of various Sinnoh-based Pokemon, as well as their alternate shiny forms.

One of the Pokemon getting increased spawns during this event is Buizel. This pure water-type Pokemon has been in Pokemon GO for a while now and can be evolved into Floatzel with Buizel candies. Buizel’s shiny form, however, will premiere with this event.

While a normal Buizel has bright orange fur and a yellow floatation ruff around its neck, its shiny form has a different color palette. Shiny Buizels can be identified by the yellow fur covering most of their body, and their ruff being silver.

Buizel fans and shiny Pokemon collectors who want a shiny Buizel should start preparing for the Sinnoh Celebration Event in order to take advantage of it. This means that players should load up on whatever lures and incenses they can get to increase spawns by any amount. Having a lot of Pokeballs will also help with the process.

While Buizel’s spawn rates will be increased during the event, there will also be other Sinnoh Pokemon with these increased spawn rates. These other Pokemon are Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Bidoof, Cranidos, Shieldon, Combee, Drifloon, Glameow, Purugly, Hippopotas, Skorupi, and Snover. Buizel, however, can be found as a 1-Star Raid Boss alongside Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Shinx, and Gible.

Those who are looking for this newly released shiny should know that there currently is no way to guarantee a Pokemon to spawn as shiny. However, players will not know if an encounter will be shiny until they enter the capture screen with the Pokemon. This means that players cannot tell if Buizel will be shiny or not from the overworld and should enter any encounter they can. It is highly recommended to catch as many Buizels as possible so that players will have enough Pokemon candy to evolve their eventual shiny and power it up.

By keeping spawn rates high and going through as many Pokemon encounters as possible, players will likely be able to encounter at least one shiny Buizel or at least a shiny form of another Sinnoh Pokemon. Players should note that shiny Pokemon are purely cosmetic forms and have no kind of advantage in battle. It will take 50 Buizel Candies to evolve Buizel into Floatzel.

Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS devices.
