The next Incense Day will occur on Sunday, 5th December from 11am to 5pm local time.
Each hour of this event causes any Incense you use to attract a particular type of Pokémon, with that Pokémon type changing every hour.
Incense Day bonuses in Pokémon Go explained
During Incense Day in Pokémon Go you’ll be able to take advantage of a variety of bonuses.
The first is that your Incense will attract more Swinub than usual; you might even be able to catch a couple of shiny Swinub.
Any Pilloswine, the first evolution for Swinub, you evolve into Mamoswine will learn the Ancient Power move, which is usually restricted to the Swinub Community Days. Just remember – you need a Sinnoh Stone and 100 Swinub Candy to get a Mamoswine.

This Incense Day is focused on two different specific types – ice and ground-type Pokémon. Here are the following hours during the Incense Day when these types are active:
- 11am to 12pm – Ice-type Pokémon
- 12pn to 1pm – Ground-type Pokémon
- 1pm to 2pm – Ice-type Pokémon
- 2pm to 3pm – Ground-type Pokémon
- 3pm to 4pm – Ice-type Pokémon
- 4pm to 5pm – Ground-type Pokémon
During the hours that ice-type Pokémon appear more frequently, you might encounter:
- Seel
- Jynx
- Sneasel
- Snorunt
- Snover
- Vanillite
- Galarian Darumaka
Meanwhile, during the hours for ground-type Pokémon and Pokémon which evolve into them, you might find:
- Onix
- Cubone
- Rhyhorn
- Wooper
- Phanpy
- Larvitar
- Barboach
Swinub will appear in every hour, since this is its special day.
How to prepare for Incense Day in Pokémon Go
If you’re planning on taking part in Incense Day in Pokémon Go, then you should make sure you’re prepared for it.
First things first, you need to ensure that you actually have Incense. If you don’t then you can easily purchase some from the in-game store or earn it by completing Special Research tasks, such as Let’s Go Meltan.
