Pokemon GO players already have a lot to look forward to in the month of July. Pokemon GO has been filled with events as a part of the Season of Discovery. With Pokemon GO Fest 2021 around the corner, players are likely preparing counters to challenge all the Legendary Pokemon being brought back for raids. That’s not all, as Pokemon GO announced that it’ll be introducing some new special research.
As of now, the Bidoof Breakout event is in full swing. No one knows why but, since June 25, tons of Bidoof have been running wild in the world of Pokemon GO. That hasn’t been to the disdain of Pokemon GO fans, who have taken to making memes of the Plump Mouse Pokemon. Now, it would seem that Niantic is pulling out all the stops in regards to its own Bidoof appreciation, as the new special research falls on July 1, deemed by the company as “Bidoof Day.”
In a blog post, Pokemon GO announced “Bidoof! Bidoof doof doof.” Essentially, the company stated that it would be adding tons of features centered around the Bidoof Breakout event. In addition to the overabundance of Bidoof related bonuses and rewards, it would also be adding a free event-exclusive Special Research story for special rewards.
Even more, this Special Research is the first in which Pokemon GO fans can make choices that’ll affect the research’s story and even parts of the event experience. That’ll no doubt encompass saving what Bidoof players come across, as even Team GO Rocket Grunts will have Shadow Bidoof that need saving. At the end of it all, players that complete the research are set to earn an exclusive Bidoof Hat avatar item.
Pokemon GO is very much a game that allows its players tons of freedom in how they choose to interact with Pokemon. The addition of a storyline in which players’ choices have an effect is pretty cool, as the mobile AR game is somewhat integrating RPG-like elements. Even though it’s only available for one day, chances are Niantic may revisit more RPG-like Special Research events.
Until then, players have a lot of work to accomplish with the current Bidoof roaming around. The Bidoof Breakout event itself features exclusive Field Research that focuses on players catching all the Bidoof they can. With even more Bidoof related events incoming, it’s certainly not too late to join in the camaraderie.
