After a number of test polls and some intense internet debating, the voting for the next two Pokemon GO Community Day events took place yesterday and sealed in the lineup for the June and July events. All four Pokemon are pretty popular amongst the trainer community, but there were two clear winners who pulled ahead in the numbers and secured their place in the spotlight this summer.

Many fans of the mobile AR game were lobbying for a Weedle Community Day so that a new shiny family could be introduced to the game. That sentiment was shared by many trainers throughout the community and helped Weedle pull out the win, just ahead of Ghastly who was the runner up. With the voting now closed, trainers are able to start looking forward to the June and July Pokemon GO Community Day events.

The results of the voting mean that Weedle will be featured Community Day in June and Ghastly will be featured on Community Day in July. There will be some variation of the usual bonuses available during each of the events and players will be able to unlock an exclusive move for the evolved versions of each spotlight Pokemon by evolving to its final form before the event window comes to a close.

Overall, the voting event seems to have been pretty well-received by the community, though there would likely have been some sore feelings if Weedle didn’t earn one of the two spotlights. The next Community Day event will take place on June 20, so be sure to mark the date on your calendars and prepare for the big event. At this point, we do not know how many of the play-at-home bonuses and features will still be active when that date rolls around.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
