Pokemon GO players are likely using this weekend to complete the new Special Research storyline and earn their first encounter with Genesect. After those activities are finished, players may want to start looking forward to the next big opportunity: Landorus Battle Raids.

Although Pokemon GO is putting an emphasis on activities that can be completed indoors and without group interactions, it seems like the Battle Raid boss rotation must go on. Landorus is scheduled to enter Legendary Battle Raids starting on March 31, so it’s time for players to start preparing a team to face off against the ground- and flying-type.

Landorus will be a new Unova Pokedex entry, so many players will be trying to find a way to complete the Raid while practicing safe social distancing and now breaking any state lockdown rules. For those who are able to safely and legally participate in one of the coming raids, here is the battle roster that we recommend for taking down the trio master of the Forces of Nature…

Ice-types and Water-types are going to be the best counters against Tornadus, so that should leave players with plenty of very powerful options when forming a party.

Mamoswine – Powder Snow/Avalanche

Weavile – Ice Shard/Avalanche

Glaceon – Frost Breath/Avalanche

Mewtwo – Psycho Cut/Ice Beam

Jynx – Frost Breath/Avalanche

Kyogre – Waterfall/Blizzard

Porygon-Z – Lock On/Blizzard

Some combination of those counters plus a small group of friends should be all it takes to defeat this boss. It will be interesting to see how much action these Raids get with many areas still attempting to avoid gatherings of people in early April.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
