Earlier this month, Niantic introduced Legendary Raid battles to the resurgent Pokemon GO. Players have been eager for new content like this, so the addition was warmly received — but it seems that there are some issues with the way the app records players’ accomplishments.

A thread on The Silph Road, a subreddit dedicated to discussions about Pokemon GO, outlines the problem that some players are experiencing. Apparently, the in-game tracker that records who many Legendary Raid battles have successfully been completed had stopped updating after reaching a count of 4, for the trainer in question.

In the comments, other players confirmed that they have been suffering from very similar issues. These Raids have been in the works for months, and there’s a lot of excitement surrounding Pokemon GO at the moment, so it’s a shame to see trainers having their accomplishments fail to be recorded.

Fortunately, it seems that the studio is aware that something is amiss. Another thread on The Silph Road features a screenshot of email sent to Niantic support, which confirms that the team was able to reproduce the error, and pledges that a fix will be available soon.

In the past, we’ve seen Niantic be very proactive when it comes to bugs and issues that affect the Pokemon GO experience for players. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the solution to this problem will retrospectively amend trainers’ records, or simply set things straight going forward.

It’s clear that Niantic wants to return Pokemon GO to the level of popularity it enjoyed last summer, and the new content added to the game seems to be a step in the right direction. Of course, there’s been the odd blunder — the disastrous Pokemon GO Fest, for one — but all in all, the game looks to have a bright future ahead.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
