Pokemon GO Load Screen Hints At New Unova Releases

2020 is here and Pokemon GO is likely going to kick off the new year with a series of events and the next wave of Unova region Pokemon. The fifth generation of Pokemon started making their way into the mobile AR game earlier in 2019, but it has been quite a while since a wave was released. The latest datamine suggests that’s about to change.

Pokemon GO dataminers uncovered a new load screen for the game that features a ton of Pokemon in the photo. Mixed in with all the creatures are a handful of Unova region Pokemon who haven’t appeared in the game quite yet. This, combined with a recent Unova region teaser from Niantic, seem to suggest the next wave is fast approaching.

In a recent breakdown of upcoming January Pokemon GO events, Niantic had the following to say about new Unova Pokemon coming to the game in the new year…

“Remember when Pokemon originally discovered in the Unova region first came to Pokemon GO? Well, we’ve received reports that some more might be coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled, Trainers, and stay tuned. We’ll share more details soon!”

Here’s a breakdown of every Pokemon that appears in the new art…

Although Scolipede, Axew, and Sewaddle would definitely be exciting additions to the game; hopefully the upcoming wave is a little bigger than that. Players are anxious to continue completing their growing Pokedex and spending the early months of the new year hunting down Unova region creatures seems like a perfect way to keep trainers engaged as the weather starts to make the mobile AR game less appealing in some regions.
