Mountains of Power quest steps in Pokémon Go

Below you’ll find all of the challenges and rewards for the Mountains of Power timed research quest in Pokémon Go. Since this is a timed research quest, you have until Thursday, 13th January at 8pm (local time) to complete this questline. If you don’t, you’ll lose the opportunity to earn its rewards.

‘Mountains of Power’ Step 1 of 2

Rewards: 1000 Stardust, 10 Great Balls and Absol encounter

‘Mountains of Power’ Step 2 of 2

  • Catch 6 different species of Pokémon – Chimecho encounter
  • Earn 2 Candies walking with your buddy – Onix encounter
  • Hatch 2 Eggs – Beldum encounter

Rewards: 2000 Stardust, 10 Ultra Balls and Mawile encounter

April 2022 introduces the Silent Schemes event, which requires learning new Leader counters and Giovanni counters. Elsewhere, we’ve recently seen new Ditto disguises as part of the Season of Alola, which also introduced An Akala Adventure and more Gen 7 Pokémon including Fomantis and Tapu Lele. Elsewhere, off the back of the Go Tour Johto event is Masterwork Research Apex to complete.

Throughout the Mountains of Power event in Pokémon Go, you’ll be able to collect a selection of exclusive field research tasks by spinning PokéStops. These tasks can be saved and completed once the event ends, so you can finish them later if you wish.

Mountains of Power spawns and event bonuses in Pokémon Go

The Mountains of Power event sees the debut of Mega Aerodactyl in Pokémon Go, so join a mega raid to start collecting Mega Energy for this Pokémon.

Heatran has also returned to five-star raids, while four Pokémon – Ursaring, Donphan, Medicham and Absol – are appearing in three-star raids. In one-star raids, you can battle Alolan Geodude, Onix, Beldum and Bronzor.

The shiny versions of Slugma and Magcargo, its evolution, have also been released as part of Mountains of Power. Slugma is one of the Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild, so keep an eye out to see if you can add another shiny to your collection!

Mountains of Power date and times in Pokémon Go

The Mountains of Power event in Pokémon Go is running between Friday, 7th January to Thursday, 13th January and ending at 8pm (local time).

This gives you a good amount of time to collect and complete any of the field research tasks which catch your eye and catch the Pokémon which are spawning more regularly in the wild.
