The November calendar of events in Pokemon GO is live now and players have a ton of exciting opportunities coming up during the conclusion of the Season of Mischief. There are quite a few events for players to power through before the upcoming Community Day arrives, but it’s never too early to start preparing.
Shinx Community Day will kick off on Sunday, November 21 in Pokemon GO and provides some extra special bonuses. There are always a handful of bonuses associated with each Community Day, but the November event actually goes a step further and provides some extra motivation to login and play during the short event. Players who want to stock up on Candy and XL Candy should definitely mark their calendars now.
Shinx isn’t a Pokemon that has been made widely available (outside of Battle Raids) in PoGO yet, so this is likely to be a very popular Community Day event. The hype around this particular Pokemon combined with the added bonuses should make it an event that every trainer makes some time for…

Start and End Times
From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
Starting in February 2019, Community Day events now always take place on local time, no matter where you are playing. That changes a bit over the winter months as the time is split between hemispheres rather than time zones. It looks like we’re back to one time at this point though.
Special Move
Evolve Luxio (Shinx’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Luxray that knows the Charged Attack Psychic Fangs.
Make sure to evolve during the active time window (within two hours of the event ending) if you want to secure the exclusive move.
Event Features
- Shinx will be appearing more frequently in the wild! If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!
- There’ll be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 50 Ultra Balls, four Incense, four Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM.
- 30 Ultra Balls will be available in the shop at no cost. Be sure to pick them up during the event!
Special Research Storyline
Flash, Spark, and Gleam will be the name of the Special Research Story. This Research Story will grant you access to the exclusive questline, a chance at higher IV Shinx, bonus items and more! This Special Research Story will go for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency).
Bonuses
- 1/4 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.
- Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- 3× Transfer Candy
- 4× chance of earning Candy XL when transferring Pokémon.
Limited Time Field Research
Recent updates to the game’s code suggest that this Community Day, like last month’s, will temporarily offer special Field Research tasks that put an emphasis on the featured Pokemon. Be sure to claim your rewards and clear out a space for these quests if you want to see them.
Shiny Variant
Niantic usually doesn’t confirm the shiny chance until after the event has started, but keep an eye out for shiny Shinx while hunting. They’ve been a part of every other Community Day event, so we fully expect to see them this month, as well.
Shinx’s big day is just around the corner, so be sure to take care of any preparations to in-game inventory and storage space now.
