Pokémon GO Perrserker Strengths Weaknesses And Perfect Moveset

Galarian Meowth was added to Pokémon GO earlier this month, along with its Gen VIII evolved form, Perrserker.

The release of Pokémon Sword and Shield has resulted in Niantic bucking its trend somewhat when it comes to the gradual roll-out of the franchise’s generations. Although the mobile game has only reached Gen V as we approach its fourth birthday, there are a handful of Pokémon from beyond that generation that have been released into the real world.

Even though Sword and Shield are developed by a different company, it falls under the Pokémon umbrella, so Niantic wanted to show solidarity and celebrate. It did so by releasing some Galarian forms of Pokémon via special events. The latest of which took place earlier this month when Galarian forms of Meowth and Stunfisk debuted in Pokémon GO.

In some cases, Niantic has avoided adding the evolved forms of certain Galarian Pokémon, such as Farfetch’d. However, in Meowth’s case, it has gone ahead and added the brand new Gen VIII Pokémon, Perrserker. Perrserker will be unknown to a lot of GO players. If so, here’s everything you need to know about using the steel-type as effectively as possible when it comes to gym and PvP battles.

Since Perrserker is a steel type, unlike Kanto Mewoth and its evolved form Persian, it has a very different set of strengths and weaknesses. Perrserker is vulnerable to fire, ground, and fighting-types. Any moves of that type will do 160% damage. On the bright side, Perrserker is resistant to a lot more types than its vulnerable to, including Dragon, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Grass, Steel, Bug, Flying, Fairy, and Rock-types. However, it is best off against Poison-types, whose moves will only deal Perrserker 39% damage.

As for using Perrserker in battle, there is a particular combination of moves that’s best for the Galar-based Pokémon. Metal Claw as its quick move, and Iron Head as its main move. Even though Play Rough and Close Combat dole out more damage on paper, Metal Claw and Iron Head together will be subject to a 20% Same Type Attack Bonus, making it the most potent combination available.
