Although Pokemon GO took the world by storm upon its release back in 2016, many may be surprised to know that the game continues to maintain its largest user base yet, thanks to consistent updates with new features, the addition of new Pokemon, and regular in-game events. However, that of course goes without saying that Pokemon GO has seen its fair share of different bugs and glitches as well.

The AR mobile game has become somewhat known for struggling particularly during live events, in which the regions of the world to experience it first, such as Australia and New Zealand, often see make-up events due to early issues. But now, some fans are bringing some much-needed attention to a plethora of bugs that seem to have been plaguing Pokemon GO’s Gym Battle system for quite some time now.

Over on Reddit, user Internal_Register_29 expressed their frustrations after attempting to collect more gold Gym Badges lately. There are many different strategies players use while in these Gym Battles, and it looks like some bugs completely disrupt those. One bug will reportedly reset players back to the beginning of a Gym Battle if they choose to flee before their opponent’s next Pokemon.

Another, more detrimental bug completely locks up the game after players try to flee from a Gym Battle in some cases. Pokemon GO’s camera will zoom in on the opponent Pokemon, but won’t allow the player to fully exit the battle while the timer continues to tick down, potentially resulting in a loss for the player, and the Reddit user mentions that restarting the game sometimes only makes matters worse. Finally, it seems that players will even occasionally get fully kicked out of a Gym Battle after trying to run, only to see the last Pokemon they used faint, despite how well they were previously doing.

It seems that these Pokemon GO bugs have been persistent for about a month now, with no mention from Niantic on any sort of fix for them. It seems that the first bug mentioned is the most persistent with other players, though some urged their fellow fans not to get their hopes up, as it reportedly took Niantic about a year to fix a bug that caused Poke Balls to stop mid air when throwing them, and a new one recently popped up causing buddy Pokemon to faint on walks.

While the game’s developer hasn’t commented on the issues just yet, many fans hope to see them resolved come Pokemon GO Fest this summer. Pokemon GO has been introducing more 6th generation monsters to the game at a steady pace, coming fresh off of the Luminous Legends X event, soon to be followed up by the Luminous Legends Y event next week.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS devices.
