Pokémon GO Players Will Vote For The Next Two Community Days

Niantic is letting Pokémon GO players vote for the next two stars of its Community Days, just as it did for the first time back in February.

This weekend is Pokémon GO’s monthly Community Day, and it will feature Seedot as its spotlighted Pokémon. That means there will be a six-hour period during which Seedot will spawn more frequently, and there will also be a whole host of other reasons for trainers to try and be online for the entirety of the event.

Pokémon GO’s Community Days were under threat at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak. In the past, as with most of Pokémon GO’s features, Community Days revolved around trainers having the ability to go outside and play the game in groups. Niantic postponed its last Community Day, the star of which was Abra, and tweaked it to fit the needs of the world right now.

Depending on where the world is in the coming months, that might well be the case for June and July’s Community Days too. The next two months will come with a twist though, no matter what. Niantic has reintroduced the ability for players to vote for which Pokémon they would like to see become the star of the next Community Day.

Trainers have four options: Sandshrew, Squirtle, Gastly, and Weedle. The winner of the vote will be the star of June’s Community Day, while the runner-up will step into the spotlight in July. Trainers will need to head to Pokémon GO’s Twitter account this weekend to cast their vote, rather than the complicated voting system Niantic put in place to cast votes for February’s Community Day.

Voting for the next two Community Days opens at 6 pm PDT on Saturday, May 23, 2020, and will close 24 hours later on Sunday, May 24, 2020. Players can cast one vote, so be sure to make it count. Meanwhile, at least on that Sunday, Seedot’s Community Day will be taking place. Trainers who have never participated in one before might want to check it out to help inform their decision on which Pokémon to vote for.
