Many Pokemon GO players around the world may be stuck inside thanks to stay-at-home orders and social distancing best practices, but that doesn’t mean they can’t still play the mobile AR game. Over the last month, Niantic has made some sweeping changes to the game’s features, events, and spawns to ensure that players can stay engaged and active without leaving the house. The latest update goes one step further and helps bring the Battle Raid scene back to life, as well.

The Remote Raiding rollout is now complete and eligible players level five and higher can engage in Battle Raids from a distance, as long as the Raid is on their Nearby radar. The new Pokemon GO feature is going to drastically change the Raiding scene and helps bring a lot of players back into the game.

To help celebrate the launch of Remote Raid Passes, Pokemon GO is bringing back three iconic Legendary Raid Bosses over the next few weeks. The festivities start today with the return of Darkrai, but Altered Forme Girtatina, and Virizion will be following shortly behind in early and mid May.

In celebration of the release of Remote Raid Passes and the ability to take part in nearby Raid Battles remotely, some familiar faces are coming to five-star raids! If you missed out on getting Darkrai, Altered Forme Giratina, or Virizion, now’s your chance. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one of any of these Pokémon!
