Pokémon GO Tour Live Event Dates & Worldwide Locations Announced

The first-ever Pokémon GO Tour Live has announced the locations, pricing, and event dates for the unique celebration. The events that Niantic puts out are one of the most exciting features of Pokémon GO, and this event promises to be even more special than most with an opportunity for players to return to the Kanto region.

2021 has seen quite a few major events, including the Halloween event, the twenty-fifth-anniversary celebration, and even a Pokémon GO event featuring Zarude from Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle. These events offered players many boons, from rare or unique Pokémon spawns, to free raid passes, to the possibility to acquire special moves for some Pokémon. Between all these events, Pokémon GO players have had a lot to do in 2021 and it seems like Niantic wants to start 2022 off strong with another major event.

Some of the details for the live tour have now been revealed today in a post on the official Pokémon GO blog. The live event will take place on Sunday, February 27th, immediately following the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto event on February 26th. Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto had great rewards so needless to say players are excited to see what the 2022 tour has in store. The event will be held in three cities around the world: Monterrey, Mexico; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; and Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

The event promises a wide swath of exclusive features including bonus candy, Special Research, special stickers, bonus special trading privileges, and players can get up to nine free remote raid passes by spinning photo discs in gyms. Additionally, there are a number of exciting real-world aspects including photo ops, exclusive merchandise, and, perhaps most interestingly, real-world themed habitats for players to explore which will each have their own unique Collection Challenges. With all of these already known plans and more yet to be announced the live tour promises to be a special event for those that want to put their trainer hats on and devote themselves to expanding their Pokémon GO collection.

Pokémon GO rises and falls in popularity along with Niantic’s good and bad changes to the game. Major events with the prospect of exciting rewards bring players back to the game after long absences and unpopular changes like seemingly random fluctuations in Pokémon GO’s lure module box prices can gradually cause others to fade away from playing. However, the game’s fans, active and inactive, have a lot to be excited about with the upcoming events that have already been projected for 2022, with more undoubtedly to be unveiled in the coming months. Tickets for the Pokémon GO Tour: Live event are non-refundable and sold on a first come first served basis, so be certain as to whether you want to take part in the event and if you do grab your pass while supplies last.
