Pokemon GO Update Adds Stardust And Experience Points To Gifts

It seems like Pokemon GO is rolling out a small update this weekend that brings some heavily requested quality of life improvements and some surprise additions to Gifts. Gifts were initially overflowing with items and Niantic nerfed them within the first few days, but now it seems that the devs are balancing things out by adding two new kinds of rewards that don’t take up any inventory space at all.

The addition of Stardust and Experience Points to Gifts in Pokemon GO is very exciting for many players. Level 40 users may not care about XP, but the majority of players are still slowly grinding through the game’s insane level structure. Stardust, on the other hand, is valuable for everyone.

The new update doesn’t seem to have officially rolled out quite yet, but users are already using the APK to download it. Here’s a look at what those users are reporting as the major contents of the patch…

Changelog:

– Friendlist sorting and nicknames (as we know already)

– Stardust in gifts

– EXP for sending gifts

– Removing of gifts

– minor fixes

Sorting the Friendlist will be incredibly convenient and it’s great to see Niantic responding to player feedback and adding this ability so quickly. In addition to that helpful change, it will be very interesting to see how much Stardust and XP can be obtained through Gifts.

Rewards earned through Gifts can really pile up quickly, so this could turn into a new important part of the Stardust optimization metagame. The resource is incredibly important in the game, so players are always looking for a way to collect more of it and power up additional fighters.

More details should be revealed in the coming days, so be sure to check back for additional information soon. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is currently available in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
