Late last month Pokemon GO trainers took to Twitter to cast their digital ballots and help determine the featured Community Day Pokemon for June and July 2020. After some serious debate, and a strong social media campaign for Weedle to finally get a shiny, the winners were declared.

It was already announced after the voting that Weedle would takeover Pokemon GO’s June event and Ghastly would rule July 2020, but now some additional details are being revealed. With June here, it’s time for players to learn the date of the upcoming Weedle Community Day and all of the bonuses and special features that they are in store for when the event rolls around.

The upcoming June event is scheduled to take place on June 20 and will bring six full hours of Weedle spawns to the mobile app. Trainers will have plenty of time to complete the day’s challenges and hopefully pick up a number of shiny Pokemon to add to their collection or save for some high value trading.

Thank you for all your efforts campaigning and voting for the Pokémon you want featured for June and July Community Day events. We are pleased to announce that Weedle, the Hairy Bug Pokémon, will be the featured Pokémon in June and that the Gas Pokémon Gastly will be featured in July! Saturday, June 20, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Features

Weedle will be appearing more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Weedle.

Evolve Kakuna (the evolved form of Weedle) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Beedrill that knows Drill Run.

There’ll be a special one-time-purchase June Community Day bundle, featuring an Elite Charged TM, 30 Ultra Balls, 3 Star Pieces, and 3 Incense.

Bonuses

3× Catch Stardust

Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.

Buddy Pokémon with a Buddy Level of Great Buddy or higher will bring you helpful items, such as Poké Balls, throughout the event. Check out this help center article to learn how to become Great Buddies with your buddy.
