Like just about everything in the world, Pokemon GO has had to change a lot of plans over the last few weeks. Tons of in-person PoGO events were cancelled due to the coronavirus and the game is still adjusting and figuring out what’s next. As trainers prepare for a new month of the game, that leaves a lot of questions.
Although we already know that Pokemon GO has postponed Safari Zones, there are other, small events that might still work out without breaking lockdown or social distancing rules. With that in mind, Niantic has released some information about how the April Pokemon Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour will play out this time around.
Luckily, it sounds like PoGO trainers are still going to be able to participate in both events from the comfort of their own homes (thanks to recent changes to the game’s settings). More details about the events will arrive later in the month, but for now the PoGO team is planning to still deliver on both Pokemon Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour.

Although the popularity of each event will largely depend on the Pokemon and bonus that are selected to highlight, there’s no denying that many players are engaging with the game more than ever now that a lot of people are stuck at home with extra free time. Pokemon GO saw some serious revenue spikes over the last month since the social distancing best practices were implemented in the U.S. and it seems like players are willing to stay engaged as long as Niantic continues giving them things they can do from their houses or neighborhoods.
Details about the upcoming event should be arriving soon. For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal.
