So far, the only Generation 8 starter Pokemon to make an appearance in Pokemon Journeys is Scorbunny, who ended up being caught by Ash’s new companion, Go. Excluding things like the anime’s opening and closing, Grookey and Sobble have yet to make appearances of their own.

But it looks like that will change once Pokemon Journeys returns from its hiatus — at least, it will for Sobble. A new set of synopses for future Pokemon episodes have leaked online claiming that Sobble will make its very first appearance in Episode 28.

The anime is currently only on episode 22, so it will be a while before viewers catch the water starter on TV. At the very least, it’ll be over a month, and that’s after the hiatus ends. Episode 28 will revolve around Sobble, though, so fans have that to look forward to.

Twitter user Arkeus88 was kind enough to translate the new synopses from Japanese to English. According to them, episode 28 is called “Sobble Sobs For What Reason?” and it sees Ash and Go learning what exactly drives Sobble to cry so much. They’ll also contend with Team Rocket, who is trying to get their hands on the Pokemon.

In total, the synopses detail episodes 26 through 29, marking the first time that The Pokemon Company has mentioned these installments. It had already released synopses for episodes 23 through 25, so these new ones mean that the company is still planning out new episodes despite halting their production. It might even be a sign that the anime will restart sometime soon.

None of these synopses mention Grookey, so whenever the grass start will actually appear still remains a mystery. Ash has caught several interesting Pokemon since this season started, but surprisingly, none of them are from the Galar region. By this point, Ash normally has at least one of the new region’s starters on his team and it’s looking very likely that Sobble is the first to join his team.

If Sobble does make it on to Ash’s team, hopefully, it won’t disqualify Grookey from doing the same. The Grass-type starter has just as many fans as his water and fire counterparts, and it would be a shame if it didn’t get as much screentime.

Pokemon Journeys will travel to Netflix on June 12, 2020.
