Exciting news has arrived for fans of Pokémon Journeys: The Series. Serebii.net reports that the next set of episodes will be released on September 11 to the U.S. version of Netflix.
As the eighth show in the Pokemon canon, Pokémon Journeys: The Series is a continuation of Ash Ketchum’s story and sees him journeying through all the familiar lands fans have come to know and love, including regions featured in the latest games: Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Of course, Pikachu is still hanging around, and new characters have joined in as well, with trainers Goh and Chloe joining the fray, as well as professor Cerise. The show airs weekly in Japan, followed by airings in other parts of the world, with chunks of the series slowly being dropped onto Netflix.
Pokémon Journeys: The Series is a delightful return to the world of Pokémon, with an all new art-style and a new direction as well. For the first time the series is not based entirely around the region of the current games, and instead features a much wider variety of regions from several different games, allowing it more freedom within its story and world. It manages to capture the best aspects of the old series while breathing some fresh life into a story that has been going on for quite a long time.
While the show had gone through a brief production halt due to Coronavirus restrictions in Japan, things are back in full swing and it won’t be too much longer until fans can binge through the next batch of episodes. Though Netflix has not released an official statement confirming the date, the app itself seems as reliable a way to confirm the date as any other method. It seems that Ash and Goh will be back to their Pokémon mission in a just a few short weeks, and fans can start counting the days until the adventure kicks back into gear.
Part 2 of Pokémon Journeys: The Series will release on Netflix September 11.
