Pokemon Masters EX is welcoming players to Palentine’s Day, a Pasio tradition in which friends share desserts with each other. It’s a cute event that will involve new themed sync pairs for Dawn and Serena, among other features.
The two sync pairs will be available until February 18 at 9:59 pm PT, but start at different times. Serena and Whimsicott are available now while Dawn and Alcremie can be unlocked on January 31 at 10 pm PT.
Both of these special sync pairs are themed after the desserts they’re giving to their friends. Dawn looks like a strawberry shortcake, while Serena’s costume is similar to a black forest gateau (that’s our presumption anyway). They both look adorable and will be available through the Scout Pairs feature in the game.
Serena and Whimsicott is a fairy-type based pair with Stun Spore that causes paralysis on the opposing team. Meanwhile, Dawn and Alcremeie is also a fairy-type pair that can dish out Charm and Fake Tears to lower the opponent’s attack and special defense. If you like these tactics and Pokemon pairs, you’d be happy to know you can max them out to a six star EX potential. Once you’ve reached this goal, you’ll get an additional Palentine’s Day costume for the character.
A sync pair event wouldn’t be right without a story path! This time, we’ll be following the duo searching for ingredients to make sweets for all their special friends. You can earn some scrumptious items along the way like Melty Chocolate, Fluffy Frosting, Fresh Berry, and Chocoberry Cake that can be turned in for team-building items for your characters. Take note that you’ll have to finish Chapter 1 to get access to this event.
Dena and The Pokemon Company are continuing the same tradition of giving gems to those who log in daily. If you check into Pokemon Masters for 13 days, you can get up to 1000 gems, which is enough to unlock three sync pairs.
Dawn hails from Twinleaf Town in the Sinnoh region and is playable in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. She has a spirited personality as she travels with Ash and becomes his best friend in the anime. She’s beloved by the Pokemon community and has been cosplayed many times.
A fan of the original DS game is actually drawing her every day until the rumored remake is announced. We hope for their sake The Pokemon Company and Nintendo does that soon. Thankfully, we found that the Pokedex from Sword & Shield may be hinting towards it.
