Pokémon Pass, a new Pokémon App, has launched out of the blue, allowing you to claim exclusive things like a Shiny Pikachu and Shiny Eevee in games like Pokémon Let’s Go through special distribution events.

Information on it’s thin on the ground for now, but we’ve gathered everything we know about it below, including how to claim the Shiny Pikachu and Shiny Eevee in Pokémon Let’s Go, the Pokémon Pass distribution date itself, and anything else worth bearing in mind.

Pokémon Pass app explained – what we know about Pokémon Pass
For now, the Pokémon Pass app is only available in North America.
If you’re there, it’s simple enough. The app is available to download on both the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS devices, and acts as a kind of distribution hub, it seems, with players able to redeem a Shiny Pikachu or Shiny Eevee for Pokémon Let’s Go through the app, if they take it to a specific store and scan its bar code.
There’s no news on when, or even if, the Pokémon Pass app will be coming to other regions such as the UK, or what future distributions or uses might look like. We’d assume it’ll make its way here soon, as the UK and European giveaways work in a very similar way to the US ones, asking players to visit a specific store (usually GAME in the UK) to obtain a code for inputting in-game, and so on.
Pokémon Pass distribution date – when is the Shiny Pikachu and Eevee Pokémon Pass event?
The only date we have so far for the event is the one for North America. For that, the Pokémon Pass distribution date for shiny Pikachu and Eevee is 11th May to 23rd June 2019.
There’s no word on when a similar distribution, or an identical one, will be coming to the UK or Europe – a shiny Pikachu and Eevee were distributed in South Korea previously, for players who purchased the full Let’s Go game at certain retailers or visited the special Pokémon Fiesta event.
We’d expect a UK and Europe version to work much more closely to the North American one though, given how similar they’ve been in the past. More on how to claim them in the section below!

How to claim shiny Pikachu and Eevee through Pokémon Pass
Once the event is live, those of you with access to the app (so, in North America for now) need to head a branch of Target and get someone to scan the code in the app itself.
That’ll give you access to a code in the app, and you can then enter that in Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu or Let’s Go Eevee to claim your Pokémon.
It’s simple enough then – although with the distribution not going live just yet we’ve not had a chance to properly test it out – but in theory the Pokémon Pass app should be a decent way to keep all your distribution and event-related codes in one place, at least.
On final thing to note: the Pokémon you get depends on the version of Let’s Go that you have, and it’s the opposite Pokémon that you’ll recieve: so Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu players will receive a shiny Eevee; Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee players will get a shiny Pikachu. Bear that in mind!
