If the timelines hold, June should be a big month for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield owners. While the threat of a delay due to the global pandemic remains, Nintendo and Game Freak are planning to launch the first of two planned expansions in June. The Isle of Armor introduces players to a new legendary known as Kubfu, tons more Pokemon, and rumored to be adding even more updated animations. However, Nintendo also appears to be readying a new event for all players to help fill out their Pokedex.

Thanks to a recent update in Pokemon Home, Nintendo is getting ready to kick off a brand new Max Raid Battle event starting on June 2 and running basically the entire month to June 29. Throughout this time period, 22 different forms of Gigantamax Pokemon will be available through Max Raid Battles inside of the Wild Area zone. Naturally, Pokemon Shield and Pokemon Sword will be getting a few different varieties from one another.

Here’s the full list of Gigantamax Pokemon available in Pokemon Sword:

One thing to note is that even though the Electric Poison type Toxtricity is listed in both games, they won’t be quite the same. For Pokemon Sword owners, they’ll be finding the Amped form while Pokemon Shield players will be seeing the Low Key form. Outside of the appearance, the Amped form learns Shift Gear and has the Plus Hidden Ability. Low Key form learns Magnetic Flux and the Minus Hidden Ability.

In addition to the return of unique Gigantamax Pokemon, Nintendo has been giving players access to version specific Pokemon through the mystery gift option. Last week was Galarian Mr. Mine while Galarian Ponyta is currently available now. Corsola is up next followed by the unique looking Galarian Meowth. In addition to getting free Pokemon, each of these creatures comes with special Hidden Abilities.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are available now for Nintendo Switch.
