Pokemon Sword And Shield How To Find Miltank

Believe it or not, this bovine Pokémon once struck fear into the hearts of many. Standing proudly beside Whitney in Johto, Miltank crushed untold amounts of challengers with the Rollout that never ended. Now that Miltank is available in Sword and Shield, is it still as terrifying as it once was in Johto? Possibly not. But used properly, Miltank can still become a handy member of your team – and a great source of calcium! Here’s how to find one in the new Isle of Armor expansion.

Where To Find Miltank

Miltank can be found as an overworld spawn in the Training Lowlands during just about any weather. It’s a pretty big Pokémon too, so odds are you’ll be able to find one out to pasture in no time flat. Why not strike a pose for it before adding it to your team?

How To Evolve Miltank

Unfortunately, Miltank has no evolution. Miltank is perfect just the way she is.

What Miltank Does In Battle

Miltank is, as its name might suggest, a tank. What makes it a better than average tank is the move Milk Drink, which restores 50% of its bulky HP stat every time it’s used – without inducing a status effect like Rest, or taking multiple turns to take effect, like Wish. This puts Miltank in a favorable position much like Blissey’s (they fill a similar role thanks to Soft-boil being a good recovery move) as a normal-type with very good recovery. The unfortunate drawback is that Miltank struggles to keep up with its competition in the Normal-type tanking world.

Snorlax and Blissey both have better defensive bulk, and while Miltank has far more speed than either of them, it’s still not quite enough to protect it against many of the more offensively oriented Pokémon outspeeding it. Miltank is able to perform best playing it safe – using Toxic on its opponents and outliving them by using Milk Drink to its full advantage. A good moveset might be Milk Drink, Toxic, Protect, and Reversal, in case you’d like Miltank to dish out a nasty surprise at low HP when it runs out of milk to drink. Or you could go the classic route and give it Rollout and Stomp to make it a mixed tank and dish out some damage.
