Pokemon Sword and Shield How to Solve Legendary Clue 4

Pokemon Sword and Shield’s The Crown Tundra DLC features a series of Legendary Clues that will send players to track down a variety of Pokemon. The first three of these Legendary Clues all center around Legendary Pokemon and will lead fans to Calyrex, the Legendary bird trio, and the Regis. This is not the case with Legendary Clue 4 (Legendary Clue?), though, as this one is all about hunting a particular Ultra Beast.

After picking up Legendary Clue 4 from the floor of Peony’s cabin, Pokemon Sword and Shield players should visit the Max Lair and again speak with Peony. This will cause the NPC to reveal that Ultra Beasts have invaded Dynamax Adventures, and fans will be instructed to catch the Pokemon that opened the Ultra Wormhole that facilitated the invasion. This Pokemon of interest is none other than the Ultra Beast Necrozma, and the hunt for it manifests as a quest called “They Came From The Ultra Beyond.”

To complete this quest, players will need to turn their attention to Dynamax Adventures, in which Ultra Beasts can now appear. In total, fans have a chance of encountering 10 Ultra Beasts in these Dynamax Adventures, and indeed Necrozma is one of them. As such, players that want to finish “They Came From The Ultra Beyond” should simply keep completing Dynamax Adventures until they encounter Necrozma, and they should catch the Psychic-type Pokemon when they see it.

That said, fans that are interested in completing “They Came From The Ultra Beyond” but do not care about catching all of the Ultra Beasts in Pokemon Sword and Shield may want to try to target Necrozma more directly, and that is possible. More specifically, players that speak with Peonia in the Max Lair will occasionally be able to pay her for a direct route to Necrozma, and this makes catching the Ultra Beast very easy. That said, Peonia will certainly not make this information available every time a fan speaks with her.

After catching Necrozma, players should return to Peony and speak with him to receive some information on the Pokemon and finish the quest. This will not mark the end of the Ultra Beasts’ residency in Dynamax Adventures, though, and fans can keep pursuing any of the extradimensional Pokemon that they did not catch while tracking Necrozma. Additionally, players that spend enough time in Dynax Adventures can unlock an eleventh Ultra Beast in Poipole.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available now on Nintendo Switch.
