Recently, the Pokémon Company has announced that it would be giving players mystery gifts to prepare for the launch of the “Isle of Armor” DLC expansion. These gifts will be available to players until June 16 – the day before “Isle of Armor” is slated to drop.
Such gifts include Galarian versions of familiar Pokémon. Bundled with these creatures are additional goods that players can use on their journeys, such as ball sets, evolutionary items, and items that can be exchanged for currency. Unfortunately, this event began a few weeks ago, so players can’t obtain Galarian Mr. Mime and the ball set that accompanies it. However, there are still other Pokémon that are either version-exclusive or just difficult to obtain in-game that players can still receive. To make these creatures even more enticing, these gifted Pokémon have Hidden Abilities.

Here are the remaining Pokémon players can receive until June 16:
Galarian Ponyta: May 29 (00:00 UTC) – June 4 (23:59 UTC). Includes a ball set consisting of a Lure Ball, Heavy Ball, Moon Ball, and Dream Ball.
Galarian Corsola: June 5 (00:00 UTC) – June 11 (23:59 UTC). Includes an evolutionary set consisting of a Sweet Apple, Tart Apple, Chipped Pot, Cracked Pot, Whipped Dream, and Sachel.
Galarian Meowth: June 12 (00:00 UTC). Includes 50 Big Nuggets and 100 EXP Candy L.
Regardless of what players think about the gifted Pokémon, the items they come with are lucrative. Items such as the Chipped Pot are almost as rare as the authentic Sinistea that needs it to evolve into Polteageist. As for the Big Nuggets and EXP Candy L., they can line your wallets and give your team quite the boost.
Although these Pokémon may seem like obvious choices to hand out as mystery gifts (being new renditions of familiar Pokémon), these Pokémon are being touted to prepare players for the upcoming DLC. Perhaps Gamefreak has some stuff in store for them? It would be amazing to see Gigantamax forms of these new Galarian evolutions. Because who wouldn’t want to see Gigantamax Galarian Rapidash with wings?
Of course, this is all just wishful thinking. It’s just as likely that Gamefreak is capitalizing on the familiarity of these new Galarian forms to keep players pacified.
The “Isle of Armor” and “Crown Tundra” DLCs will be released in place of a sequel to Pokémon Sword & Shield. “Isle of Armor” will be released June 17, and players can expect “Crown Tundra” to be released sometime in the fall.
