This eerie but charming Ghost-type pokémon is a fan favorite for many. With a pretty high HP stat and some incredibly unique moves, it’s no slouch in the combat department, making it a great addition to your team to fill the Ghost/Flying niche. Here’s how to find and evolve Drifloon into Drifblim in Pokémon Sword And Shield.

Finding Drifloon

Going to the Wild Area is your best bet for finding this cute balloon, as its only non-Wild Area spawn is on Route 5 with a 5% chance. It pops up all over Lake Miloch and the Watchtower Ruins in various weather conditions, but your best bet is overworld encounters in North and South Lake Miloch during foggy weather, Surf encounters on South Lake Miloch during overcast and foggy weather, and overworld encounters in the Watchtower Ruins during intense sun or snow.

Evolving Drifloon Into Drifblim

Drifloon evolves into the hot air balloon-themed Drifblim at level 28 and gains a massive increase to its HP stat.

Drifblim’s Moveset

With its highest stat being the HP stat, Drifblim’s biggest advantage is how many hits it can take. It has a roughly equally decent Attack and Special Attack stat, so you won’t have to worry about picking and choosing too much. Drifblim’s moveset is interesting in that it allows for three very different builds: one being to use the Stockpile, Swallow, and Spit Up trio it naturally learns, with Minimize taking up the fourth slot to minimize the chances of getting hit while stockpiling.

The second is the tried and true Destiny Bond and Self-destruct combo which will always K.O. a difficult opponent, but relies on Drifblim getting K.O.’d as well.

The third is simply to retain Drifblim’s more conventional moves and build it as a bulky but fast special attack-focused pokémon. The recommended moves for this approach would be Hex and Shadow Ball with your choice of damaging or stat-affecting moves from earlier in its movekit.
