Pokémon Sword & Shield How To Find & Evolve Rookidee Into Corviknight

Corviknight was one of the first Pokémon revealed for Sword & Shield, and was pretty popular right away. It’s a more stylized take on the typically plain regional bird, with its dark coloring and armor-like steel plating. It’s also a pretty good fighter since it can use the rare Gigantamax transformation. Want this flying knight on your Pokémon team? Read on to learn more about Corviknight.

How To Catch Rookidee

Rookidee is the Charmander to Corviknight’s Charizard, and as such is likely one of the first Pokémon you’ll see in Sword & Shield. It can be found wandering around and/or the tall grass of Routes 1, 2, and 3. It can also be found in Motostoke Riverbank and Slumbering Weald.

If you’d rather get a Rookidee from a Max Raid Battle, you can find dens at East Lake Axewell, Giant’s Cap, and Hammerlocke Hills.

How To Evolve Rookidee To Corviknight

Rokidee evolves into Corvisquire at level 18 and then Corviknight at level 38.

Corvisquire can also just be caught on its own at Route 3, Giant’s Mirror, Hammerlocke Hills, and Motostoke Riverbank.

Corviknight can also be found in the wild at Route 7, Dusty Bowl, Giant’s Cap, Hammerlocke Hills, Lake of Outrage, Motostoke Riverbank, North Lake Miloch, Slumbering Weald, and Watchtower Ruins. Those looking for the best Corviknight of all – one that can Gigantamax – will have to check the Max Raid dens in the Giant’s Cap part of the Wild Area.

What Corviknight Does In Battle

Corviknight looks like it’s wearing armor, which is a big clue that it’s highest stat is Defense. This makes it a good candidate for the move Body Press, which calculates damage based on the user’s Defense instead of Attack. Smogon recommends Corviknight as a Defogger, meaning it uses that move to clear entry hazards like Spikes or Stealth Rock.

When it goes Gigantamax, Corvinight’s ability to mess with opponents gets even stronger. Its special G-Max move Wind Rage can erase barriers like Reflect and Light Screen. Overall, Corviknight is a great defender who you can use to respond to opponents as you prepare your next move.
