The end credits sequence of Pokémon Sword & Sheild has more than just Pokémon and their trainers in it, as eagle-eyed fans have spotted a mouse cursor flashing across the screen during the final moments of the games.
Pokémon Sword & Shield have been accused of being sub-par entries in the series due to their comparative lack of content and polish compared to the earlier Pokémon games. There have been accusations of the 3D models being reused from the Nintendo 3DS Pokémon games, even though most of the Pokédex is missing from the games, while fans have pointed out bizarre technical issues with the games, such as time freezing whenever the player climbs a ladder. Game Freak has come under fire for numerous reasons, but the removal of the National Dex is what has hit fans the hardest.
It seems that the complaints regarding the quality control of Pokémon Sword & Shield have some merit, as fans have noticed a mouse cursor during the end credits sequence. YouTube user named ReignOfComputer has uploaded a clip of the mouse cursor flashing across the screen during the video that plays alongside the credits. The clip below has no spoilers for the story of Pokémon Sword & Shield.
It’s easy to see how the mouse cursor could have been missed during testing, as it only appears on the screen for a second. The majority of video games are never finished by the people who purchase them, which is why it’s usually the first half of the game that gets the most bug testing. There are even fewer people who pay attention during the credits sequence of a video game, so these receive even less attention than normal in terms of fixes.
Pokémon Sword & Shield have yet to receive any patches to fix issues with the game and it’s likely that the mouse cursor will be left unedited in future updates, due to how innocuous it is. It’s unclear how a mistake like this happened in the first place and made it into the game, but it’s pretty low on the reasons why some fans have issues with Pokémon Sword & Shield.
