Lucario is one of the best Pokemon in Pokemon Unite, so it’s no wonder you’re probably interested in learning about how to create the perfect build for it. As an All-Rounder, Lucario is valuable for a variety of different reasons, although there is one specific build that makes it a particularly strong pick.

As with all builds for the new Pokemon MOBA, Lucario’s optimal loadout revolves around picking the right moves, items, and strategies to suit what makes it most effective. There are multiple ways to run a decent Lucario build, although the one we’ve been using has worked flawlessly for us so far.

When you load into a match, you’ll initially have the choice between two moves: Quick Attack and Meteor Mash. Because you need to hastily kill minions at the beginning of each game, Quick Attack is the better option – it allows you to take out all of the Aipom lightning fast, so you should have Meteor Mash unlocked by the time you reach the Audino in the middle of the lane.

Your next choice is between Extremespeed and Power-Up Punch. A lot of people run the latter on account of it being related to Lucario’s Unite move, but Extremespeed allows you to hit twice if you connect the first time, plus its mobility is perfectly conducive to Bone Rush, the next move you should choose (as opposed to Close Combat, which doesn’t suit Lucario at all). With Extremespeed and Bone Rush, Lucario becomes an extremely mobile wrecking ball, which is further compounded by Aura Cannon once you unlock it at level nine.

For held items, you’ll want to give Lucario a Muscle Band and Scoring Shield. This increases its attack dramatically while also allowing it to score points more easily, which is important given that Lucario’s status as a killing machine means you’ll almost always have tons of points to use. For the third slot, I’d recommend the Float Stone or Shell Bell depending on whether you prefer to play a very agile Lucario or more of a bruiser.

For battle items, Potions are always a safe bet, although Lucario really benefits from X Attack given that it further increases the effectiveness of what’s already a pretty monstrous offensive kit.

Lucario is an All-Rounder, meaning that it assimilates qualities from all of the other classes in order to create a more balanced and varied one. Really, though, it’s a mix between an Attacker and a Speedster, especially thanks to the high damage output and versatile mobility provided by Extremespeed and Bone Rush.

To get the most out of Lucario, you’ll want to play bottom lane with either a Defender or a Support partner. They’ll keep you safe while you dash in and out of the action, dealing immense damage while racking up tons of points to score once you’ve cleared the lane. Just remember to commit to patrolling your designated lane and to always go into combat with someone at your side and you’ll be golden.
