You can now dress your Blastoise up as a firefighter in Pokemon Unite thanks to its new holowear.

The Pokemon Company has spoiled us this year. The return of Pokemon Snap after a 20-year wait and the long-rumored Diamond and Pearl remakes will be here less than a month from now. There was far less demand for a Pokemon MOBA, but we got one anyway in the form of Pokemon Unite. Turns out the game was the spin on the Pokemon franchise a lot of players didn’t know they wanted.

Pokemon Unite had a successful summer on Nintendo Switch and continues to grow now that it’s available on mobile. Teaming up with others and strategically taking down an opposing quintet of players isn’t Unite’s only appeal, of course. You can also dress your Pokemon up in neat little costumes.

Come on, don’t pretend like you don’t love it. To make that element of the game even better, Firefighter holowear for Blastoise has now been added to the in-game store. The outfit includes a yellow helmet and a snazzy orange jacket, plus it includes a new animation for when Blastoise gets a KO. The Pokemon will also wear a pair of shades, which raises one very obvious question.

Where are Squirtle’s shades? Even though you start each match as Squirtle when you select Blastoise, neither it nor Wartortle will be dressed as a firefighter as you evolve throughout the match. Not only would this have been the perfect chance to give Squirtle a pair of sunglasses and pay tribute to the Squirtle Squad, but the eyewear Firefighter Blastoise is wearing appears to have been inspired by Squirtle’s Squirtle Squad look.

It will cost you 1200 aeos gems to dress Blastoise as a firefighter in Pokemon Unite. The price of Unite’s holowear has actually been a topic of controversy lately. Ninetales recently received a new outfit that costs 2499 aeos gems. Not only is that more than double the price of most other holowear in the game, but it equates to about $40 in real-world money. Unite might be a free game, but $40 for a virtual Pokemon outfit is a little much.
