Those of you who rushed through Lavender Town as a kid during your adventure in Pokémon Red & Blue will soon be given the chance to do it again as an adult, as footage of the Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee version of Lavender Town has been uploaded to YouTube (with thanks to GameXplain.)
Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee is based on Pokémon Yellow, which means that you will be traveling across the Kanto region once more. This means that you will have to journey to Lavender Town, which contains the tower where Pokémon are laid to rest.
The original music of Lavender Town has been beautifully remastered for the Let’s Go games, in a way that has kept the unsettling atmosphere of the original while adding a new layer of melancholy to its sound.
The Pokémon Tower is back and the player has to fight the Ghost-type wielding Channelers once more.

The player is shown being followed around by a Cubone, which suggests that the tragic demise of Cubone’s mother and her return as an undead monstrosity will be shown once more in the Let’s Go games.
The new footage of Lavender Town was saved for Halloween, which is fitting when you consider the fact that it’s one of the scariest places in the Pokémon series. Lavender Town is the birthplace of creepypasta, with fans all over the world sharing their stories of how unsettling they found Lavender Town as kids.
Lavender Town sparked all kinds of weird stories when the Internet was still young, such as tales of Japanese children taking their own lives after hearing the town’s theme for so long, or that there was a boss cut from the tower for being too scary (hey, it happened in Mother 3.)
Pokémon Red & Blue had several oddities that were ironed out in later games, one of which was confirmation that Pokémon passed away over time and had their own burial rites. The later Pokémon games downplayed any kind of mortality among the Pokémon, with a few exceptions (most notably in AZ’s backstory.)
It has been twenty years since the original Pokémon fans braved Lavender Town. The question now is whether you are brave enough to return there as an adult, like in IT?
Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee will be released for the Nintendo Switch on November 16th.
