Pokémons New Dynite Ore Explained

There have been many different forms of currency introduced throughout the Pokémon series, and Sword & Shield are no different. While the game keeps the usual form of currency used in shops, Pokémon Dollars, it has also added three new forms of currency to the series. With the addition of the Wild Area to the game, Watts were introduced as a new form of money players could find. Watts are the excess energy pouring out of Max Raid dens. Watts are the main form of currency in the Wild Area and can be used to purchase items and moves from wandering vendors. Watts can be collected anywhere in the game, unlike the other two forms of currency.

Sword & Shield’s first DLC, the Isle of Armor, introduced Armorite Ore. Armorite Ore can only be found on the Isle of Armor. Players can earn Armorite from successfully beating Pokémon in Max Raid battles or by spending Watts with Digging Ma, who will mine for the Ore. Armorite can then be spent inside of the Master’s Dojo in exchange for exclusive moves from the Move Tutor. The Ore can also be used to reset a Pokémon’s EVs, or Effort Values. If players travel into the Workout Sea east, they can find someone on an island willing to reset a Pokémon’s EVs in exchange for ten Armorite. This is useful so trainers can build their Pokémon up from a clean slate.

The latest Sword & Shield DLC, The Crown Tundra, has added a third form of currency into the game. Dynite Ore is similar to Armorite Ore, but is exclusively available in The Crown Tundra. This Ore can be collected through Max Raid Adventures. Players will acquire Dynite for every successful battle in the Max Lair. Even unsuccessful trips to the Max Raid Lair are rewarded with some Dynite. If players are able to battle their way through the Lair and defeat the Legendary Pokémon waiting at the end, they’ll receive bonus Dynite.

What Can Players Purchase With Dynite Ore?

Dynite Ore can be used to purchase rare items in the Max Raid Lair. Simply speak to the woman on the right side of the cave standing next to the Sableye. She’ll have a full inventory of useful items players can purchase with the Ore they collected through Max Raid Adventures. Available items include EXP Candies, Vitamins, Bottle Caps, Wishing Pieces, Dynamax Candy, and several other items that can be found throughout the game. To items that cannot be found so easily elsewhere are the Beast Ball and the Ability Patch. The Beast Ball is used to catch the Legendary Ultra Beasts, while the Ability Patch allows Pokémon to activate their hidden ability. Players will have to save up their Dynite, though, if they’re looking to purchase these items, as a Beast Ball costs 150 Ore, while the Ability Patch costs 200 Ore. Both are the most expensive items available by a large margin.

Another way players can spend Dynite Ore is on hints as to where each Legendary Pokémon can be found. Peonia, the girl players first meet when they arrive in The Crown Tundra, can be found on the left side of the Max Raid Lair. In exchange for five Dynite Ore, she will gives players the location of a Legendary Pokémon. This is a cheap price to pay in comparison to the Beast Ball and Ability Patch and should save players a lot of time and hassle.
