QuakeCon, known to some as the Woodstock of gaming, is going online this year. Bethesda canceled the 25th QuakeCon event that had been planned for August 2020 in Dallas, Texas, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, ZeniMax Media, the organizer, will host a non-stop livestreaming event from August 7 to 9, which is bound to attract many more gamers than the in-person event.

The livestream will begin with Welcome to QuakeCon at Home at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET on August 7, with Bethesda SVP Pete Hines sharing the itinerary, and end at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on August 9, when Evil Within 2 game designer and director John Johanas will play and discuss the game with community manager Jonny Roses.

Participants can view an interview with Australian Fallout cosplay creator 5NOVCreations at 3 a.m. ET on August 8, a DOOM Eternal panel with Hugo Martin and Marty Stratton at 7:30 p.m. ET, and the Quake World Championship Grand Finals, at 5 p.m. ET on August 9. In addition, there will be a cosplay showcase, sponsored by the Australia and New Zealand Cosplay Competition, at 12 a.m. ET on August 9.

Gamers can also enjoy some free giveaways. Throughout the weekend, players can log into Bethesda.net and get a free digital copy of the original Quake on the Bethesda launcher. Also, if donations for Quake II reach the $10,000 mark, players will receive a free digital copy of the first-person shooter video game on the Bethesda launcher soon after the event.

Players can also receive a QuakeCon-unique Twitch Drop, the Flame Atronach Pony pet, in addition to Ouroboros Crown Crates by linking their ESO and Twitch accounts and watching any of the official ESO streams each day. In addition, DOOM Eternal players can access a free in-game QuakeCon Slayer Skin, icon, and player badge across all platforms until August 11.

Finally, gamers can claim a free, exclusive QuakeCon 2020 Railgun skin in Quake Champions, as well as, a free in-game Fallout 76 Sheepsquatch Outfit and Mr. Fuzzy Backpack Demonic Variants all weekend on all platforms.
