A little late for Halloween, but those not-so terrifying Little Brown Bats are hard to round up in Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s not so much their size but their scarcity that makes these tiny winged beasts so tricky to find, but nonetheless, you’ll need to seek them out from time to time if you’re intent on those Daily Challenges in Red Dead Online.
Their name describes these pig-nosed mammals perfectly, so it’s not a matter of identifying these nocturnal critters. Instead, it is a population problem. Little Brown Bats are simply a rare sight in RDR2, showing up in small numbers in only a handful of locations across the entire American West. To increase your chances of knabbing them when you do spot one, it’s best to take along a bow and plenty of small game arrows. Once you’re geared up, these are the best bat hunting locations in Red Dead Redemption 2 and RDO.
Best Little Brown Bat Locations
New Austin
There is only one location for hunting Little Brown Bats down in New Austin.
- Southwest of Benedict Point, there is a rundown farmstead that has since been occupied by a gang of bandits, known as Solomon’s Folly, where you may spot a few bats flying about.
West Elizabeth
West Elizabeth is also only home to one prominent Little Brown Bat location.
- Like so many other wildlife, Little Brown Bats can be sighted in the night sky around the Aurora Basin in the Tall Trees region. Your best chances are along the pool’s northern shores.
New Hanover
Though still only one location, the most prominent Little Brown Bat Habitat rests in New Hanover.
- The Elysian Pool in the Roanoke Ridge region of New Hanover is probably the best location to reliably hunt Little Brown Bats in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Lemoyne
Little Brown Bats also hold a small presence in the southern state of Lemoyne.
- You may find Little Brown Bats swooping among the craggy terrain of Bolger Glade in Lemoyne’s Scarlett Meadows.
- There is also said to be a population of Little Brown Bats up in the Bluewater Marsh, though we have not been able to pinpoint any specific dwellings.
